Today's most famous Dragon tree.

The most attractive specimen is in Icod de los Vinos. Its trunk has a huge cavity going up six meters high to which you can enter through a door.

For the purpose of protecting it, some cleaning work of this precious dragon tree was carried out in 1985. A fan was installed inside the cavity to facilitate air circulation and prevent fungus growth.

In fact, during the early nineties in the past 21 st century a decision was taken to branch off a bordering road where this natural wonder is located. Such measure by the City Hall has favoured the experts’ verdict about its good state of preservation.
